GabLab is recruiting multiple PhD students to begin in Fall 2027 in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. Students in the lab design and build their own experiments, capture fluid phenomena with high-speed imaging, and connect what they see to theory.
Projects span our research themes of interfacial dynamics, multiphase transport phenomena, and complex fluids, including drop impact and rebound, water entry, liquid sheets, and particle-laden interfaces. See our research for current projects.
Who should apply
We welcome applicants with a background in mechanical engineering, physics, chemical engineering, applied mathematics, or a related field. Experience with experiments, programming, or fluid mechanics is helpful, but curiosity and persistence matter most.
